Informativa privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 2026-11-03
Quali dati raccogliamo
- Dati dell’account: nome, email e password.
I tuoi diritti

Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-11-03
This notice explains which personal data the VisitareLaGalicia app processes, why, for how long and what your rights are, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
Data controller
The data controller is Michele Larovere, who runs the VisitareLaGalicia app. For any privacy question write to info@visitarelagalicia.com or use Profile → Messages & support in the app.
What data we collect
- Account data: name, email and password. The password is stored encrypted by the authentication provider: we cannot read it.
- Optional profile data: country, phone, language, interests and whether you want promotional messages.
- Content you create: favourites, itineraries, your Camino (route, start date, completed stages and diary notes) and the packing checklist.
- Messages you send us: help requests, “Notify me” requests for experiences and host applications, which may include a phone number and a description of the experience.
- Notifications: if you allow them, we store the code that Apple’s or Google’s service uses to reach your phone, together with the app language, to tell you about new messages, the outcome of your business profile and, only if you turn on “News notifications” in your profile, the news we publish. You can turn them off in your profile or in your phone’s Settings; the code is deleted when you log out.
- Usage data: technical events such as opening the app, viewing a page, starting a search, creating an itinerary and signing up, with date and time and, if you are logged in, linked to your account. We do not record what you search for.
- Technical data: the servers hosting the app receive your IP address and the connection data needed to provide and protect the service.
Location: only if you tap “My location” on the Camino map and allow it, your phone uses it to show you on the map and work out how far the end of the stage is. This is calculated on the device: your location is not sent to or stored on our servers, and you can revoke the permission in Settings. We do not use advertising or advertising trackers.
Data stored on your phone
The app keeps your login session, chosen language and a copy of your data on the device so it opens instantly even offline. This data is removed when you log out or uninstall the app.
Why we use them and on what legal basis
- Providing the app and your account, saving itineraries, favourites and your Camino: performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Sending you notifications about messages and your business, if you allowed them on your phone: performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Sending you news notifications, only if you turn them on in your profile: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Answering your messages and letting you know when an experience becomes bookable, if you ask: performance of your request (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Usage statistics, to understand what people like and improve the app, and service security: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object by writing to us.
- Promotional emails: only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time from your profile.
- Complying with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Local businesses and requests
- If you list your business, the profile data (name, category, area, description, services, languages, website and photos) become public in the app once we approve it. Your phone number stays in your profile and only our team can see it.
- If you send a request to a business, the owner sees your name, app language, the request details (service, date, people) and the chat messages, but not your email. The business uses this data as an independent controller, to reply and provide the service.
- Legal basis: performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Our team may read chats with businesses only for support, security and to check reports: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Who processes data on our behalf
- Supabase Inc.: the app’s database and authentication, with servers in the European Union. Any access from outside the EU is covered by GDPR safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
- Netsons: sending service emails, such as the sign-up confirmation.
- 650 Industries Inc. (Expo), United States: delivering push notifications through Apple’s and Google’s services; it receives the phone’s code and the text of the notification. The transfer is covered by GDPR safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
Some external services process data as independent controllers: the app’s photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons (the Wikimedia Foundation receives your IP address); Apple App Store and Google Play distribute the app; the Camino map is provided by Apple Maps (Apple receives the requests needed to display it) and the trails, © OpenStreetMap, are built into the app; other maps and official websites open only when you tap them. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
How long we keep them
We keep your data as long as you have an account. If you delete it (Profile → Delete account) we immediately erase your profile, itineraries, Camino, messages, any business profile with its photos and the notification codes; usage events remain only in anonymous form, no longer linked to you. The provider’s technical backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
At any time you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict processing, receive your data in a portable format and object to processing based on legitimate interest; you can withdraw consent to promotional messages. You can edit your profile and delete your account directly in the app; for anything else write to info@visitarelagalicia.com, we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or the authority of your country.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 14: if you are under 14, please do not create an account.
Security
Communication between the app and the servers is encrypted (HTTPS) and the database enforces access rules so that each user can only see their own data.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we process data, for example when paid bookings arrive, we will update this page and the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app.

- Cumplir obligaciones legales (art. 6.1.c).
Negocios locales y solicitudes
